31. 05. 2013
From 31 May 2013, Brno City Museum opens the south wing of the castle Špilberk after extensive renovation with an inaugural exhibition (it will be open until 27 October 2013) and a second part of a gallery with renewed exhibition of Brno interwar architecture (both exhibitions are permanent). The inaugural exhibition, GAMES CRYSTALLISATE– a concept by Petr Nikl will transform the museum rooms into a creative space for visitors who will become creative teammates. Petr Nikl builds on previous interactive Orbis Pictus projects organized since 2006 in the Czech Republic and abroad, such as the Czech Center in New York in 2012. From Modernism to the present / Gallery of Contemporary Art in Brno – a permanent presentation of Brno art scene since the second half of the 20th century to the present day, from the extensive and important collections of the Museum of the City of Brno. For a New Brno / Brno Architecture 1919-1939 – Renewed permanent exhibition of the Brno interwar architecture, which now belongs to the phenomena of European architectural avant-garde.
